The three main people behind The Borderlands are Megh Ale, Anil Chitrakar and Wade Campbell. . 

Megh Ale is one of Nepal's leading figures in rafting. Having spent several years working and exploring the rivers and jungles of Nepal, including four years at the Bardiya National Park as a naturalist, Megh is always ready to share his deep understanding of Nepal and its myriad cultures, plants and animals. He is the founder and president of the Nepal River Conservation Trust (NRCT), and the Managing Director of Ultimate Descents Nepal and the Borderlands Group. The Borderlands PDP is part of the Borderlands Group that focuses on Professional and Leadership Development programs for Corporate Houses and Schools, both national as well as international.

   
Anil Chitrakar,  the corporate director, is a great facilitator and brings decades of experience in implementing small and large projects in Nepal and globally, both in the private and the public sectors. Wade Campbell is a Canadian native and has had extensive experience in outdoor adventure pursuits. He has delivered outdoor programs for nineteen years in various countries and has spent ten years in business and travel in Asia. He is knowledgeable in the field of experimental education, adventure-based programs, marketing and tourism. He began his career in Outdoor Education with the Canadian Outward Bound Wildness School in 1984. He is presently the Director for the Borderlands Adventure Centre

MAHABIR PUN, an Ashoka Fellow and the Ramon Magsaysay Award winner in 2007, is the team leader of Nepal Wireless Networking Project. He has also been conferred with different awards in recognition of his effort to initiate different projects such as: paper making, education, health clinic, composting toilets, teaching etc. His experiences range from bee keeping to building a 2KW micro-hydro power station and also building the first wireless network using Wi-fi technology in Nangi village. Mr. Pun is now associated with the Borderlands Group to jointly promote village tourism in the Myagdi area with the help of the community lodges.

On the other hand, the Borderlands PDP and LDP, one of its kind in Nepal, specializes in Professional/Leadership Development Programs and Team Building events which are fun filled and adventurous yet teaches the vital components of a successful organization namely: retaining employees, increasing loyalty, employee bonding, trust, communication, planning, coordination, team effort and leadership. The organization has been providing custom designed courses in adventure and education for more than a decade and has developed the programs in consultation with many international organizations. There is a strong emphasis on developing personal, inter-personal and team work skills. Activities are designed to be multi-faceted, educational and challenging. The programs are wholly participatory and the onus is on the participants to meet each particular challenge as it comes and give it their best shot.

The Borderlands Group does not lag behind in its Corporate Social Responsibility. It organizes the Annual River festival at the amazing Bhote Koshi River and lobbies for its preservation as well. The Managing Director of the group, Mr. Megh Ale, is also the Founder President of Nepal River Conservation Trust (NRCT), an organization that is actively involved in conserving Nepal’s Himalayan river system, preserving the cultural heritage and developing an environmentally responsible tourism industry. Apart from supporting the annual Bagmati River Festival organized by NRCT on the occasion of the World Environment Day (June 5), the group also supports the Wetlands Day celebrations. Similarly, the group is operating the Borderlands Resort as an Eco Adventure Resort by minimizing the use of plastic bags, playing a vital role in the preservation of the local forest area and actively involved in raising awareness about tree plantation. The group also provides employment opportunities to the locals by employing 90 % as Resort staff. In addition, the company plays a vital role in supporting and managing 5 local schools namely: Kali Devi Lower Secondary School, Seti Primary School, Ram Rajya Primary School, Sayapatri Kindergarten and Deep Jyoti Primary School.
