1. February 14 – Valentine’s Day
An occasion for people to express their love and affection for each other, a festival celebrated worldwide and Nepal cannot escape it. Why not on this occasion take a drive to Borderlands Resort with your loved ones and experience majestic splendor of nature that surrounds borderlands on the bank of Bhotekosi river. Also, we organize a couple scavenger hunt for the occasion. Participate with your loved ones and enjoy the prizes. I’m sure your loved ones will appreciate the romantic journey of a lifetime.
2. March 8 – Maha Shivaratri
Om Namah Shivay! Maha Shivaratri is one of the major festivals of Nepal and literally means “Night of the Shiva”. It is believed that on this day, the stars in the Northern Hemisphere are at most optimum positions to help raise a person’s spiritual energy. It is also believed that the Shiva principle is most active on this day of the year. Borderlands- cradled in the natures lap, amplifies this feeling. So why not join us to celebrate this day.
3. March 8- Int’l Women’s day
“Better the balance, better the world”. How will you celebrate women’s achievements on Friday March 8? Why not come to borderlands, we’re giving out special discounts for women, on the adventure sports we provide. Join us to celebrate the int’l women’s day in an exciting manner.
4. March 22- World Water Day
World Water Day tries to remind people about the significance of fresh water and to promote sustainability for fresh water resources’ management. It’s a day to celebrate water. It’s a day to prepare the ways to manage water in the future. Each year World Water Day highlights a specific aspect of freshwater. For 2019 this is: ‘Leaving no one behind’.
This year will probably be the last chance to see and experience the magnificence of Bhote Koshi as a white water rafting destination. So let’s not miss this experience and gear up to come in contact with the Bhote Koshi. Be part of the river walk alongside Bhote koshi and feel the magical powers of the wild flowing river.
5. March 24- Holi
Colors and water are simply inseparable. A night before you will stay at the Borderlands Eco Adventure Resort, we burn campfire, marking the destruction of Demon, Holika. We go rafting and kayaking from borderlands in the lower Bhote koshi, where we jump, swim, splash, paint and even dance inside the river and go up to Sunkoshi Beach Camp and further celebrate this festival of colors.
6. April 9- Easter
The Egg hunt is here! Grab your baskets and bring the whole family for a fun day on April 21st. borderlands has kept a lot of secret eggs in its premises, try to collect as much as you can, and enjoy the gifts inside!
7. April 13 – Nepali New Year!
Celebrate New Year 2081 at borderlands where the fun and adventure is unlimited. Start your new year with a daring activity so that your whole year turns pale in front of your boldness.
8. May 23 – Buddha Jayanti
Nepal celebrates Buddha Jayanti on the full moon day in the Buddhist month of Baishakh. The birthday of Buddha (Buddha Jayanti) is of special significance to many because; Nepal is the birth place of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha.
Borderlands is honored to invite you to mark the 2563rd anniversary of Gautam Buddha, the enlightened one. This auspicious occasion will be commemorated by lighting butter lamps, spiritual chanting by monks and prayers for world peace.
9. June 5 – World Environment Day
Borderlands would like to invite you to a short hike towards Gumthang, where there is a community forest. On the occasion of the World Environment Day, Borderlands in partnership with the local community is organizing an afforestation program.
In the same way, Borderlands will be carrying out a “Clean your locality” campaign in Khusibu area, where its corporate office is located. Let’s make the world a better place to live. You can join us in our campaign in Khusibu or even start your own campaign in you locality.
10. June 21 – World Yoga Day
Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice, today it is performed worldwide for proven benifits. On this day, we will be inviting experts from Prakriti Foundation for yoga and mindfulness sessions. Let’s achieve liberation through joining mind, body and spirit.
11. September 6 – Teej Dar Program
Teej is a festival celebrated by Nepali women, for the long life of her husband and long and firm relationship between them until the death of this life and all the lives to come. Some days before the Teej, Borderlands invites you to its Teej Dar program, where we have a grand feast awaiting you during the day and campfire and BBQ at night with lots of dance and music.
12. September 27 – World tourism day
Celebrate the world Tourism day by engaging in the thrilling adventure sports provided by borderlands and end the day by a two hour rafting from Balefi (near borderlands) to Sunkoshi beach Camp.
13. October 10 – 14 – Dashain
Enjoy Dashain with locals near borderlands.
Break away from Kathmandu and enjoy the tranquil environment at borderlands. With a day’s hike reach the local village (Gumtang) and enjoy the festival of Dashain with them. As an option you can take rafting or kayakaing as a return option up to Sunkoshi beach camp, have your lunch there and then return back to Kathmandu by road.
14. October 31 – November 4 – Tihar
Enjoy Tihar with locals near borderlands.
Break away from Kathmandu and enjoy the tranquil environment at borderlands. With a day’s hike reach the local village (Gumtang) and enjoy the festival of Tihar with them. As an option you can take rafting or kayakaing on return up to Sunkoshi beach camp, have your lunch there and drive back to Kathmandu.
15. December 25th – Christmas Day
Don’t miss the Christmas Eve Party at Borderlands where we have live music, campfire and BBQ.
16. December 31st – New year’s Eve
